Anyone who smokes Newports probably heard of this news from the same email I read last weekend, But this is still news for ANY smoker who at least respects menthol smokers' right to choose.
This talk about banning menthols is no different from smoking ban proposals. Banning menthols, and especially banning the #1 brand for Blacks who choose to smoke is a violation of my freedom of choice.
If you a smoker who at least believes in freedom of choice, I'd suggest (aside from please continue to read this post) contacting your members of Congress too and tell them to say NO to banning menthols.
(I think early next week applies to this week actually)

This idea of banning menthols is a clever way of telling Afro-American smokers "If you want to smoke in this country, you ain't welcome to smoke menthols anymore." I beg your Fking pardon? I thought I'm an American like the W's who live in this country too!
That's an indirect way of telling a group of smokers in this country that we ain't welcome to actually live as Americans if those Big Daddy MFkas are gonna try to dictate what we CAN smoke. I'm sure Congress knows we represent the majority of menthol smokers, and they trying to force us to quit smoking by banning menthols.... at least they're bringing up the idea of banning menthols!
I can see brainwashed brothas and sistas quitting if menthols get banned. Cause even I know most of us ain't gonna smoke regs for good...and I won't myself! At least not premade regs.
But I know if this ban idea doesn't apply to LOOSE menthol tobacco, I WILL make my own menthols if I have to. Sheet, I'll make my own regs and get into the habit of smoking em with a menthol ban. THIS brotha has no intentions on quitting. This is MY life! |

| I like menthol cigs too. I'm a white (very pale), female American and over 60 years old. So far, I have managed to buy relatively inexpensive, good tasting, pre-made menthols. But if I HAVE to, I WILL learn how to roll my own. This is just stupid! |

I guess the reason why I sound like a peed-off business owner who's forced to have a smoke-free tavern is cause banning menthols is personal for me. I decided myself if I have to, I will look into doing what I did before...make my own menthols with the help of a supermatic machine.
If the govt thinks banning menthols is gonna force me to quit smoking, I wish they could see my middle finga clearly as I dangle a lit menthol in my mouth.
But at least I got "practice" in making my own menthols before.
BTW, I know W's smoke menthols too. A W chick even paid me a buck for a Newport cig the otha nite. But I was just hinting that most of the menthol smokers are "us." And that's a fact....you can even look it up online. But I neva said ALL menthol smokers are Blacks. That latter is a lie. |

Jay, something I just thought about is the fact that I've seen a few internet posts of menthol smokers threatening to not write letters to help Lorillard out against the FDA regulation bill when it comes to menthol cigs, due to the fact that cig companies(though I still believe that cig companies should've fought much harder against FSC laws) have been required in some states to already sell FSCs. I'm still crossing my fingers that despite this, that the FDA bill doesn't pass.
Never mind that my Congressmen is a POS one that'd vote for this crap, and probably wouldn't read my letter anyway opposing this bill(and ahem, Jan Schakowsky of the IL 9th District). |

I think Candy Flavored Cigarettes are awesome. I want Berry, Banana, Vanilla, Cherry, Apple, Chocolate, Peach, Grape, Strawberry and Menthol. The problem isn't that menthol is being banned; all flavors are being banned and menthol just happens to be one of them. If you want to try a great cigarette, try a chocolate black devil in the silver back: Fantastic!!
Saying flavored cigarettes make kids smoke is like saying cherry brandy makes kids drink hard liquor.
Conclusion: people who believe that flavors make people smoke and drink are very, fvcking stupid.
People Smoke and Drink because it is FUN, FUN, FUN. If you take away the flavors, people are just going to keep on smoking anyhow. When it is no longer fun, people QUIT. |

Cause menthols is one of those flavored cig brands. And the antis want the FEDA to ban all flavored cig brands, cloves included.
A ban of menthols is indirect discrimination towards minority groups who prefa smoking flavored cigs. Afro-American smokers included.
One recent online article actually called the idea of banning menthols discrimination towards Black smokers. Makes sense to me from their standpoint. I love menthols. Ad the only way antis are gonna stop me from smoking is if they ban menthols.
But they gonna have to do a he11uva lot more than that to make THIS bro stop smoking! Me got alternatives like making my own menthols! And Native menthols that ain't included in the ban! |

Jay, give em' hell! I'm not black, and I smoke menthols. Didn't start out smoking them, but found them about 10 years after I started, and haven't looked back since.
Even if they ban menthols, I refuse to quit smoking. I will find an alternative some way, some how. It's the principle of the thing now. |

I think methals should be banned. They stink! & They tastle like toothpaste.
BUT
I think if the government wants to ban "racial-profiling" then they should ban Oliver North, George H. Bush, Daniel Web, and the entire CIA from selling kill0s of crack in South East LA.
