Keep sucking on those fags boys - you KNOW you want to - you can stop whenever you want, but why stop sucking on fags when you're having so much fun standing out in the cold / all alone????
I gotta say, I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that the indoor bar and restaurant bans will be coast to coast in a few short years followed shortly by bans in all outdoor public spaces followed shortly by bans in ALL indoor spaces (including my car and my home). Any of us who deny that haven't been paying much attention since anti told us all they really wanted was a smoke-free airline flight.

We're gettin' steamrolled at an ever accelerating pace.

NIME, where do you see it going after that?

I'm not NIME (thank goodness), but what I see is bans on fast food (obesity), alcohol, perfumes, peanuts, dogs, cats, free speech, privacy....

Amazing - I stop by and say hello and this thread becomes one of the most popular you've had in a long time - Wow - the hate that is built up inside so many of you...It's so sad to see.

Yep, I'm pretty direct.

I don't like you at all, you are a smarmy little [beeyotch] who needs his ass kicked.

Too bad I am Quaker, people like you test my faith.

So, lets cut the crap, you intend to steal my rights, nothing says I have to kiss your ass.

Yep. Sums it up for me, too. The rabid hatred has rubbed off now, and it's starting to be returned. How's it feel? I used to have compassion, but it was legislated and taxed out of existence. Twisted Evil

Where's it going?

I agree with you about restaurants / bars - within a few years, 75%-90% of the US population (or more) will live in a state that are smoke free indoors. I also expect you'll see that the next front (already beginning) is condominiums and apartment buildings along with smoking in cars with those under 21 present. You'll probably see some California beach towns going smoke free on the sand, but this won't catch on everywhere, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong.

Hopefully I didn't reveal anything from those secret BIG-PUBLIC-HEALTH documents that they sometimes let me see during our briefings, LOL.

Thank goodness is correct!

You're wrong about all those bans...perfume bans will remain where they are now - pretty much only in doctor's offices, and even then, it's voluntary. Peanuts - caveat emptor - better labeling, but not banned. Free speech - I'm told I am paid by the word. If you think you don't have free speech, spend a month in a Muslim country and try speaking openly.

As for alcohol - you tell us that all bars are going out of business, so no need to ban alcohol, right?

Steal your rights? Which right is that? You have no right to smoke, except as regulated by law. The laws represent the people and the people are more and more frequently expressed their desire to have laws protecting them from breathing in second hand smoke. The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people. The power to ban or allow smoking in public places belongs to the states and the people and their voices are very clear.

Bans and restrictions are not stagnant, they ebb and flow with political idle hands wanting to look busy.

NiMe - This has nothing to do with smoking, Groups of people on the web are furious that smokers are being fired, forced out of housing, taxed, restricted and banned. many of them aren't even smokers. This activity will not stop with just smokers, history has always shown that when people in power 'feel their oats' they can't stop and will keep going.

"No wire hangers" NiMe, you truly don't get it...

Hey oNLyiNyOurmOuth, I m curious as to your hatred against smokers in general. Can you answer that? You really seem to revel in others misery, comes across pretty odd, (did a dirty smoker make you play in his "nasty spot"?) As to your comment on future bans, especially indoors, I m hoping you guys will at least let us go to smokers "summer camps", wont you? I agree w/ Gilster, youre inane posts are quite amusing!
