| I got the Magic25 regular. It made my light cigg a bit too light. I am interested in a filter that only cuts out the tar not the nicotine. I just need these because my throat feels hoarse and my lungs feel a bit heavy after smoking these RYO all day where my Marlboro Ultra Lights or any store bought cigg didn't. The tubes manufacturers don't make ultra light tubes and me using a pin to make holes in the filters aren't helping enough. The magic25 definitely did help but I'd rather not have the nicotine filtered out because it makes me smoke more. Are there any filters just like the magic25 that just filter out tar? I looked up Targuard and Friend holder but they both mention on their websites that they filter out the nicotine too. |

That's called a tar trap. Either of the Friend Holder Permanent Filters or the Tar Guard Tar Traps remove tar, but not nicotine.

The closest I have found to an ultralight tube is the Ramback Elite, from D & R. It has no air holes, so instead uses a well constructed filter.

The Tar Guards do not filter out nicotine, unless I misunderstand. As far as the Friend Holders, it depends on which ones you buy. Any of the Friend Holders that require the cartridges, will lower tar and nicotine. The Friend Holder permanent filters, which do not require cartridges, are tar traps only and do not lower nicotine, unless I misunderstand.
I was using the Friend Holder Air Blend, which did require cartridges and thus lowered both nicotine and tar. Once I left the light perforated tubes and switched to the Ramback Elite tubes, I no longer needed a secondary filter. |
