For me, it's not that it causes a headache. It's more like it constricts the blood vessels in my head. In one sense, it's almost like drinking WAY too much coffee, except the effect is instant. I am sure it does sound odd, but I have been smoking for 27 years, but have almost always smoked ultralight during that time.

I've heard others say that also. Guess smoking is just in my blood, because even my very first cigarette, a Marlboro red, never did that to me.............but then, I'm odd that way, in that things affect me differently or don't affect me at all, than they do other people..hehehehehe Laughing

I've started smoking 39.5 years ago with full flavor Marlboros, then went to Kool 100's, from there back to regular flavor 120's. Switched to light cigarettes about 20 years ago when I found the full flavor ones too strong for me..........strong in that they felt like they were burning my throat. Been smoking lights ever since. Ultra-lights are just way tooooooo light for me.........LOL

I won't go into it here, but let's just say, it's a miracle my liver hasn't fallen out at this point, given what all it has had to process over the years. Either that or it should have a 'pharmacy' sign on it.

There was a point in time where I smoked Basic Menthol Light 100s for 2-3 years. Other than that, I always did ultralights. But, my thing is, I don't smoke more than half a cigarette at a time. Once I get past the half way point, it's too strong for me. And I read somewhere recently, you can stuff the shake near the filter, which will be perfect for me, since I won't smoke it that far down anyway.

I don't know many people who smoke ultralights. It seems everyone does either lights or FF.

Also, on the tightly stuffed tubes, it seems that if the tube is stuffed as tightly as possible, you can't get as much of a draw on the inhale. I think that's why it makes them lighter. I have been paying attention these last 24 hours. Hardly any smoke comes out on the exhale when the tubes are tightly packed.

I smoked the tightly stuffed Gambler ultralight this past 24 hours. It still has a funky taste. It's nowhere near as bad as premade ultralight, but still. It's much milder than when I was packing them loose, but I think you had it right on the Gambler as far as what you said before. I will smoke those every other day until they are gone. I only bought 6 oz of it thank God!

I ordered some of the Gizeh Charbon tubes. It will probably be like smoking air if I stuff those with an ultralight tobacco! I think I better reserve those for the Wingate Light Menthol and Iceberg!

People like you must drive the rabid anti-smokers insane. You can't possibly be up walking around and living your life after smoking 39.5 years. How dare you counteract their propaganda by still existing!

LOL - that is so true! I'm 60 and have been smoking since I was 17. I patrol the parking lot at work at least 4 times a day. No one says a word to me...they must think I'm too ancient to deal with. Laughing

I know, I keep asking who I can sue since I'm NOT dead. AND since my son who survived 2 heavy smoking parents 24/7 all his childhood is also still alive, AND a healthy as a horse 27 year old now.

Seriously, according to the propoganda, I should be dead, or at the very least, should look like an 80 year old at my present age of 54 and be wheezing and walking with an oxygen tank.

I mean IF smokers or their remaining family members can sue for being lied to about smoking, I should be able to sue someone for lying to me about an early death. Shouldn't I?

Go figure.

It's just fashion to trash smokers these days, along with the lies that go along with it. I had someone tell me the other day the only reason I wasn't sick from 27 years of smoking was because I RYO. I told this person I have only been RYO for a week, yet, I am healthy as a horse, never felt better in my life, never get sick outside of my usual two colds a year, etc.

Even though the tax man seems to focus mainly on manufactured cigs when he chases after mail-order any tobacco purchase can get chased so it's safest to buy all tobacco products with cash in person. If you don't live in a cheaper tobacco state there might be one nearby.

I would love to shop locally and pay cash, but I am afraid that won't work for me. I went back to the tobacco shop today to get some more tubes. Of course, they got the Zig-Zag shipment in, but they only had FF and were totally out of the light tubes. I know I should have called before going to get the tubes, but what difference does it make? There is no other place to go, unless I wish to make a day trip! *Sigh*

Additionally, I don't know how the tobacco shops are in other places, but the one near me bites as far as inventory. In addition to being roughly 30 miles away from here, the selection is rather paltry, to say the least. Zig-Zag are the only tubes I have seen in there. As an ultralight smoker, they don't keep any ultralight in stock, which is why I had to order the first bag. Then again, they aren't really a RYO, since they carry premade cartons as well as cigars.

Anyway, I will stuff the FF tubes with the ultralight, then prick around the filter with a pin to lighten the tubes up.

I will most likely start doing bulk orders - 10 lbs at a time, online, even if I have to pay tax later. I would rather order twice a year online and have everything I need. If the tax man cometh, I have no probs paying up then. For what SYO costs, I could hardly complain.

Talk to the owner or manager - I had the same problem til I talked to the owner and now he sets my order off to the side until I can pick it up.

I actually did call them this past week, to ask if they could get Rave and Golden Harvest ultralight. He told me they couldn't get either, so I should order it online! (I'm serious. That's exactly what he said!)

next time you are in their store, ask them if you can see their 'Distributors' listing of available items.

The store close to me - a variety store with a pretty decent RYO section, carries all the Premier tubes 'except' the lights [which I like]
I asked to see their book - and lo and behold - they aren't there.

I also go to a store in another state and they have them, different distributor in that area - so I load up on the tubes there when I'm in the area.
