and condos as well. I've heard that Oakland has a similar measure before council. It covers all non-stand-alone residences.
Here's a comment by one of Belmont's illustrious leaders (capitals mine):
"We're responding to a health and safety concern," said City councilman William Dickenson. "We need to step back and look at what we're doing when we are LEGISLATING IN THE HOME. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DO THAT, but you have to be very careful when you do that." |

| Sounds like Belmont is doing some "ethnic cleansing of smokers" .I can just see the eviction notices for 25-30% of the people and the tax revenues of Belmont going down by 25-30%. |

| Whoa! If Belmont folks have the right to show their hatred for me in being a smoker, I'm NEVER going there. Sounds like I'd need protection for real if I ever step foot into CA at all. |

Where does this guy get off saying they have the right to legislate what you do in your home? This is WRONG! and IMMORAL!

| If anyone here would enlist in the Caleeefornia National Guard to defend the anti-smoking Fascists, have at it. All smoking Caleeefornians should leave the State before the 9.9 Quake happens, as God swoops down on the Anti Smoking Stink Brigade.Don't look back or you will be turned into STONE! |

You're thinking of Calabasas, CA. That was one that made the big news in Feb./Mar.-ish of 2006(last year), when it was passed.
Weirder to think one of my fav bands(Incubus) is from that s***hole of a town/suburb..... |
