Argument about smoking leads to stabbing

An argument about smoking behind a bar led to man being stabbed in the throat with a pocketknife on the 4100 block of East McDowell Road early Tuesday morning.

The victim asked 40-year-old Isman Warsame not to smoke near a doorway of The Wanderin Bar and the two argued, according to Phoenix Police documents. Both the victim and the suspect were smoking at the time of the altercation, said Detective Bob Ragsdale, Phoenix Police public information officer.

Authorities believe Warsame then took out a pocketknife and stabbed the victim's throat, according to those documents. The victim is in serious but stable condition.

“We can't say there were any former issues,” Ragsdale said. Both men spoke the same foreign language, Ragsdale said.

Police are searching for Warsame, who authorities believe fled the scene, according to Phoenix Police documents.

The Wanderin Bar is a small, unassuming establishment, dark and full of arcade-style entertainment. Around the back, cigarette butts lay scattered around a coffee can ashtray. A sign hung on the back door, reminding patrons of the recently implemented public smoking ban.

I never heard of this bar.Must be a pigpen!

Whoever these assholes are, they should both be put away, one smoker telling another smoker to move away from doorway, and the other stabbing the first to speak. Both of these people are MORONS!!Tensions are growing,we will be hearing more bizarre things before this is over, for sure.

Moral of Story:
Smokers, Do not FuCck with other smokers, whoever they are.And Drinking and Unconstitutional Smoking Bans don't mix!

I could see stabbing an antismoker with a pocket knife. But I'd NEVER stab a smoker. As a matta of fact, I'd keep my mouth shut and light up a cig myself if I saw a smoker smoking near a doorway.

"Both the victim and the suspect were smoking at the time of the altercation" - sounds like a couple drunken idiots to me, and that smoking vs. antismoking had nothing to do with it. Typical media. If there was a different stabbing that night you wouldn't hear them say "neither the assailant nor victim were smoking at the time".

Correlation Does Not Equal Causation

The most important lesson in statistics is widely ignored, especially by the mass media: Correlation between two things does not prove that one causes the other. For instance:

Virtually all heroin addicts drank milk regularly as children.
Therefore, drinking milk leads to heroin addiction.

That is, of course, complete nonsense, because most milk drinkers do not become heroin addicts. But replace "drank milk" with "smoked pot" and you have a statement that is just as ridiculous, (for the same reason), but widely believed by many anti-marijuana crusaders.

Hell it could of been the milk from an earlier time in their life Wink
