The funniest thing I noticed were those damn wall street cigarettes from Latvia / Denmark.
No Taxes, No escrow, no MSA. $0.55 per pack including all transportation, profit and delivery.
Bottom line is the cost to produce a cigarette in volume is less than a penny.
The taxes derived from the sale of 1 cigarette in NYC is approximately $0.20. Thats a 20 to 1 cost to tax ratio... 2000%!!!
The cost to produce a dollar bill for cirulation is 9 cents. a dollar bill will circulate approximately 20 times before being destroyed.
Assuming 5% tax per exchange a $1 bill circulated 20 times generates $1 in tax revenue before being shredded. 1 value to 1 tax ration or 100%.
Government doesn't need to mint penny anymore... Mint smokes.
100 cigarettes generates $20 in taxes... Might as well start taxing packets of sugar for $1 to stop that NYC Fatass disease from spreading. |
