First you could light up in Baytown, then you could only light up in certain public areas, then you couldn't light up at all in public places.

Now voters are being asked to vote on the smoking issue again — this time to repeal the smoking ban.

The ordinance is just one of many issues Houston-area voters will decide Saturday.

I hope like all(and to God) that Baytown passes Proposition 1! It's sickening and depressing that repeal efforts of other smoking bans unfortunately have failed in many towns this year(such as one in Anchorage, Alaska, where a full smoking ban including bars will take effect in July 2007, since a referendum to repeal a stricter smoking ban that passed in Anchorage in mid-2006 failed Sad ).

You can count on the yuppie-controlled Texas media to pound the campaign trail non-stop 24/7 for the smoker ban right up until the election. That's what is never fair about the ones that are voted on by the sheep. They're brainwashed even further than they are now, rather than being allowed to make up their own mind. How hard is the business community there fighting it, and what quakity are their commercials?
