I for one don't understand why it is that people get so upset about smoking in public. Look, smoking is a personal choice and one that when chosen has to be taken with some personal responsibilty along with it. I smoke but I don't smoke when someone might be upset of bothered by it. I smoke outside at my own home as I choose to do this rather than damage my home inside. When I am around someone that is not smoking and I want to smoke, I ask them if it will bother them BEFORE I take off and express my personal choice. 99% of the time I don't smoke in eating establishments because honestly its a pain and my wife does not smoke so I don't want her banished to the dark recesses of the cafe with me just so I can smoke. If we all took personal responsibility more often I think a wide span of problems could be solved. Like women with perfume that would choke a horse, or men with enough Aqua Velva on to slide a new battle ship into the harbor, or when one of our kids throws thier food half way across the room, or when our dog barks until the wee hours of the morning........personal responsibility! I smoke in public whenever I feel like it. If people don't like it, they can get up and move. I am not a doormat.

Unfortunately DrDick not all smokers are considerate as you. For example, the man I saw in town the other day, during a parade, when the streets were packed with happy children, families with babies etc. There was no other smoker in sight, yet this jerk proceeds to light up in the middle of all these innocent kids, and poisons them with his second-hand smoke. Instead of him taking himself somewhere private to poison himself, he proceeds to be selfish, and make a poor mother and newborn baby move to a new smokefree spot. My point is, why do the non smokers have to move just to protect their breathing from jerks like this. Maybe he didn't want to be a 'doormat' huh Tom.

Damn right, dumbass. This country is founded on freedom. People can smoke whereever they want, and those who don't like it, can move.

Mr. Smokefreefuture, you're full of sh1t. I always see about 1 in 10 people smoking at a parade at a time. Now if he was dropping his ashes on some baby, I would agree that is bad. You're extremly ignorant to complain about a cigarette with the fire engines belching diesel fuel and throwing candy for the kids to run closer to the toxic fumes. You have some nerve to complain about smoking at an outdoor parade. I DO smoke in front of kids when they are in a smoking section or if we are on a public street. I DO smoke inside a smoking laundromat when a smoke free laundromat is a few miles away regardless of who is in there. You're right, I don't want to and will not be a doormat. That's very intuitive of you being that's excatly what I said.

So Mr. Hypocrite, why don't you enlighten us all with your description of your daily routine? Certainly you do not go outside with pollution being what it is, and you don't drive because of such a high chance of dying each time you turn on your vehicle, and you must also be a vegetarian since cooking meat produces petroleum that lodges into your lungs, or you don't burn candles since the EPA has determined that the chemicals candles produce are worse than second-hand smoke. You must also not have furniture and your box you live in is filled with air purifiers as so no germs can reach your precious air. Are you as passionate about prohibition as you are about second-hand smoke? It doesn't make much sense to be against smoking which NO ONE can prove does ANY HARM, but THOUSANDS of people die each year from drunk driving, let alone the diseases alcohol consumption causes.

You're an idiot Smokefreefuture. Lock yourself in a glass box, eat raw veggies everyday and NEVER LEAVE. Then, and only then, will you NOT BE A HYPOCRITE! Until then, you're just a whining little beeoch. Go home and cry to your mommy, just don't get into a car accident and die on your way there!
