I am a Texas smoker who is very unhappy about Texas cigarette taxes this week becoming the highest in the nation. I would like to talk to smokers from our great neighbor state of Louisiana, particularly along your western border. I just might want to come visit your state! Get back to me here or write me direct at my email address kennanwynn7@yahoo.com

Thanks, neighbor!

You are not the higest taxed state in the nation. Your tax went from 41 cents to 1.41/pack. New Jersey is the highest in the nation. The solutions are 1) make your own. 2) Russian site 3.) an indian site as long as they don't ship out of New York State. We're currently at $2.58 a pack, but the governor's gonna increase it next year.

I dont want to brag lads, but a pack of twenty cost £5.23 here in Scotland. The tax element is £4.03.

Using todays exchange rates thats $10.16 per pack and $7.83 for the Gubmint.

Brings tears to my eyes, that does.

I didn't realize New Jersey was the highest... What is the rate of smokers in New Jersey comparitivly? Is it towards the top half, or the bottom half? And I guess you can;t include NYC, but the cigs are ridiculus there, but thats just added city tax on top of state tax me thinks...
