| I absolutely can't believe it! Now, on top of banning cigarette smoking most places, the government is actually trying to pass laws to ban foods with transfat in them!! I am becoming more and more alarmed at how far the government is going at eroding our personal rights. Gee, do you suppose they will let us eat food with transfat in it if we pay HUGE taxes on it? Do you think they will ban sugar next because that can make you overweight, which can cause high blood pressure, etc. etc? When will it stop?? |

| I TRULY do not understand why more people aren't becoming concerned. We have seatbelts, cell phones, cigarettes and now food being regulated. In the Chicago area I've heard concerns being expressed over people adjusting the radio/CD knobs and not paying attention to the road while driving. What's next? What is it going to take for more people to wake up and realize there is a problem with government control? |

How about a ban on tag, and I don't mean the cheap cologone that's supposed to make you irresistable to women?

Ban for boy with two snacks

A boy aged 10 has been banned from his school dining hall because his packed lunch broke the government's healthy eating guidelines.
The father of Ryan Stupples is protesting after his son was forced to eat in the headmaster's office at Lunsford primary school, Larkfield, Kent, because his lunch contained two snacks, instead of one.
Ryan's lunch consisted of a sandwich, fruit, fromage frais, cake, mini cheese biscuits and a bottle of water. The cake and the biscuits broke the snack limit. They were discovered when a teacher checked his lunch box.
Michael Stupples, 41, said: "What 10-year-old boy won't get upset when he's out of a dining hall in front of everyone and made to eat his lunch in the head teacher's office?"
Malcolm Goddard, the headmaster, said: "We take healthy eating very seriously and everyone is aware of our new policies."
Better not eat that extra snack. |

Isn't that how they started with smoking? Public transport and movie theatres?

Say what? She's not gunning for a nanny state but wants the Scots to take responsibiltiy? Taking responsibility means an individual makes a responsible choice it doesn't mean banning every [freakin'] thing you feel people shouldn't do. Banning is what the nannystate is. They call idiots like this nazis for a reason, namely the nazis were doing the exact same thing as far as smoking, obesity and drinking back when the third reich held power. |
