I am new on this website and wanted to send out a big THANK YOU for whoever created this. Hugs & Kisses!!!
I have been involved in an ongoing battle in a forum on another website where I was one of the only smokers fighting against a proposed ban on my city. Needless to say after months of fighting these antis, I couldn't take it any more, I had to go somewhere where I wasn't getting so angry all the time.
I had spent so much time providing medical, scientific, and opinion links to show these antis that they were just paranoid. They harassed me, made judgements on my character (one said smokers are poor, unintelligent trash), and asked me to prove my points over and over again. All the while I asked questions of them, brought up the issue of talking compromise, stayed on top of the news, medical, and science world on the issue of ETS, but they truly do NOT care about anything besides what they want - not even compromise or discussion of how we can all coexist.
Eventually I got so angry and pulled the 'nazi card'. I feel that I am completely justified in labelling them in this manner, but even the smokers were saying that I went over the top. So I went searching for a new home to vent to and here I am. So once again, thank you!

| It's nice meeting you. I am proud to be a smoker too. Smokers are really friendly to each other on this site. Once in a while the antis come in and stir the pot a little, but it's always fun. All the smokers on this site stick together and help each other out. Ask any question on smoking, whether it be on avoiding taxes, finding smoker friendly questions, or just venting, there's a solid core of smokers on this site who are more than happy to help out another smoker. I've learned that we can't convince any anti-smoker of our ways. They'll keep fighting and complaining till they get tired and go away. This site is run by Bill Williams of New York City. He's a smoker with a really big heart. |

Welcome aboard, LibbyLiberty. Don't be afraid to play the nazi card here - that term gets tossed around here almost daily. Gotta hate those health nazis! |

I cannot believe how horribly mean they could be. It's like they called all their anti friends to sign up on the board and continually bash me. Oh well!

I still visit this board, but I wasn't around for the recent attack from a former anti who's back on here. I thought about responding, but those posts are sort of dead now. I'd respond if those posts were made recently though. There are nice smokers on here, and I'd call Brian a cool dude even if he (or I) didn't smoke.
It does sound like I might get hired at a smoking casino though. After an interview yesterday, the interviewer told me to find out if I can get to the casino period. Since he didn't specifically say "I want you to find out if you can commute here at NIGHT in particular" I took that as a positive sign towards hearing "You're hired." After all he did say if I CAN get to work period (which I can), then he can continue dealing with me. I assume he meant "I can continue with the hiring process for you if you have a work route" in other words. |

| Good to hear you might get hired at a smoking Casino. I love casinos for the freedom. Even though, I don't gamble much when I go to Atlantic City, I love the freedom we all have there. In a casino, you're free to do as you please. The restaurants are great in casinos too. We gave those anti's a piece of our mind this time. It's nice to know that we have more class than the antis by sticking to the current issues. That anti that made fun of our education, responded to a 2 month old issuse, and it looks like we both already handled that issue. Those antis just assume that we smoke becasuse we don't deal with issues and still think about the problems we had months ago. It's unbelievable ignorance on their part. We have much more class than them. |

I also am a smoker and very glad to find this wonderful forum. I am 56 now and started smoking pipes about five years ago. In the past few years I have added cigars to my smoking enjoyment. I try and vote with my money whenever I go out to eating establisments. I always make sure I eat at an establishment that allows smoking and always advise management in the establishment that I eat their because they allow smoking by their customers!
