Has anyone tried these? Are they any good?
They are advertising ferociously on Boston radio stations lately as a quitting aid.

Curious if anyone has tried to light these up in a non-smoking area, they are technically not tobacco or herb - it's a vegetable.

Might be good item for a planned smoke-in too - can they enforce not lighting a stick of lettuce?

Their site has them at over $5 [yickes] but wondering if they are decent and if the smell is any different than a regular cigarette. For times when the action of smoking, not necessarily the nicotine, is wanted - would Anti's scream that they can smell a salad burning?

Gilster:

If you are planning a smoke-in, PLEASE do it with the real thing.

Ain't the same thing as doing it with a salad mix.

Lettuce cigs are gross... I got a pack, then would give them away anytime someone I didn't know asked me for a cigarette.. Dirty grubbers got their lesson Smile

Interesting though if they fall under the ban...

Hmmmmm. That's too expensive for lettuce. I can buy a head of lettuce for 99 cents, and probably make a good carton out of it. I will sun cure some lettuce, shread it up, and make some cigarettes out of it. If it doesn't smell like a cigarette, maybe I can smoke it inside.

In most instances/states, the bans do NOT cover them, as the smoker bans are only geared toward tobacco smokers. A lot of bars and small restaurants across the country have been getting around the bans by claiming that whoever the snitcher was (let's face it, that's the only way they can really catch you, by some Nazi prick calling the snitch line, they just don't have that many undercover cops), they didn't really see anyone smoking tobacco, it was just lettuce or herb cigarettes . Clove cigarettes are being sold in a lot of these places for just that reason. Not that I'd ever suggest anything like that, of course. Wink
